Today we are going to show you how to bypass a zone on the Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200 wireless security system. The first thing you are going to do is make sure there is a programmed contact into the panel. Today we will use the Honeywell 5820L wireless window/door contact. Now, that we know we have a programmed zone go to the home screen, select zones, select the zone you wish to bypass, select bypass, enter your user code, back out to the home screen, select arm system away, enter your user code again. Now you can exit the home with the selected zone bypassed.
Most times bypassing a zone is used because there is in an issue with a specific sensor or zone and the alarm system will not allow you to arm the system. By bypassing the particular zone that is having the issue you allow the system to overlook that zone and allow you to arm the system. If there is an issue with a sensor or zone than you will have to bypass that zone every time you want to arm the alarm until the issue has been corrected. It is better to have the alarm armed with a sensor bypassed that not arm system at all. That way you still have some sort of alarm protection in your home or business.
The Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200 wireless security system has been discontinued by Honeywell and will no longer produce these alarm panels. The L5200 has been replaced by the Honeywell L5210 wireless security system the link to the new system has been placed below.
