This video will show you how to program a Honeywell 5834-4 wireless key transmitter into the Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200 wireless security system.
To program the Honeywell 5834-4 wireless key transmitter from the home screen select security, more, tools, installer code "default is 4112", program, keys, add new, make sure key type is 4 button, assign a user, select serial number. To learn in the serial number into the Honeywell L5200 system you can either enter it in manually or you can automatically enroll the serial number in. In this video it shows you how to enter the 7 digit serial number manually. You can also enroll it automatically by clicking the arm away way button "top left button" in increments of 3. The first time you push it you will hear the panel beep stating it is acknowledging you are attempting to learn in the device. Click arm away again the panel will beep and show you the serial number and loop number assigned which should be loop 3. Click the arm away button one more time and the panel will take you back to the programming screen. We like to assign button 4 "the bottom right button" as a 24 hour audible panic button to do this select button 4, you will see a list of variations you can assign to this button but again we use 24 hour audible. Now select save, back button, select yes and now go back to the home screen. Once at the home screen make sure that your Honeywell 5834-4 wireless key transmitter is indeed working by trying to arm away followed by disarm, arm stay followed by disarm and lastly test that your 24 hour audible siren is working Warning "don't stand to close to the panel as it is very loud".
By adding a Honeywell 5834-4 wireless key transmitter to your DIY security system you will now be able to arm and disarm your alarm system from outside of the home. Also, another neat feature of the Honeywell 5834-4 key transmitter is that the fourth button can be programmed as a home automation switch to control a lights, locks or garage door's with one touch.
The Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200 wireless security system has been discontinued by Honeywell and will no longer be producing these alarm panels. The Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200 has been replaced by the Honeywell L5210 wireless security system the link to the new system has been placed below.
